The dBA scale, on the other hand, measures the intensity of a sound in decibels, but it is weighted to reflect the sensitivity of the human ear to different frequencies. In terms of sound field sizes, the Phon scale is more useful for measuring the perceived loudness of a sound in a specific area, while the dBA scale is more commonly used to measure the overall intensity of a sound in a larger area, such as in industrial or environmental noise assessments. **
