The impeachment was a response to Yanukovych's actions, including his decision to abandon a trade agreement with the European Union and his handling of the protests that followed. The process was conducted according to the rule of law and the constitution of Ukraine. **

While the primary aim of the impeachment is to hold the President accountable for his actions, it is also likely to have an impact on his election campaign. By impeaching Trump, the Democrats are signaling to the public that they believe he has committed impeachable offenses, which could influence voters' perceptions of him in the upcoming election. However, the Democrats' primary focus is on upholding the Constitution and the rule of law, rather than solely aiming to damage Trump's election campaign. **
